From Kristie and Dawn: March 15th from 4:30 - 5:00 pm will be the Open House for Dr. Petersen. Please come out in support of Dr. Petersen. There will also be tiles up for sale soon for the new Pingree Center Memory Wall. All proceeds from the tiles will benefit the Dr. Brent Petersen scholarship fund. The tiles are a fanatastic way to create a lasting memory of the Pingree Center. They will cost $100.00 for a 6 X 6 tile or $250.00 for a 12 X 12. More information about the tiles will be sent home soon.
Transitions are occuring right now for students who will not be returning to Pingree. If you are planning on transitioning your child, please contact Kristie or Dawn.
Don`t forget the Parent Support Night will be March 29th from 6 - 7:30 pm. Joel Manwill, an OT, will be the presenter. Child care is available for $5.00. Please RSVP by March 22.
Spring Break is coming up. No school from March 30 through April 8.
The Annual Pingree Easter Egg Hunts will be on March 29th, the last day of school before spring break. They will be outside if it is a nice day or in the Kiva if it is bad weather. Please donate a bag of candy or $3.00 to fill the eggs. Thank you!
Graduation pictures will be April 25th for students leaving the Pingree Center or transitioning from preschool into elementary.
From Laurel: There will be no Bee`s baseball event this year. Pete Nicholas is working on doing a baseball night for the Pingree Center through the University of Utah. This would be a free event for Pingree families. Instead of the Bee`s games, there will be a few other fundraisers this year. First, will be the Ben & Jerry`s Free Cone Day on April 3, 2012 from 12 - 8 pm. Invite everyone to the event to get a free cone and put a tip in the jar. All tip money is given to Pingree and Cypree Credit Union will match the tips up to $1,000.00!! We do need voluteers to help that day to distribute flyers, so contact Laurel at laureli@vmh.com if you can help.
We will also be having an Open House at Whirlybird Helicopters and Lucky Duck Aviation on April 14 and 15th from 9 am - 8 pm each day. Helicopter rides will be $40.00 and airplane rides $35.00. You can also buy drawing tickets to win a 10 min helicopter ride for 3 people or win a 30 min ride for three people by participating in the golf ball drop. Whirlybird is located at 4235 Airport Rd in Ogden. Call Dave to reserve flight times at 801-726-3627. Spread the word and come to this fun even. The Tumbleweeds Film Festival is sponsering an autism night to the movie Eleanor`s Secret on March 25th at 1:30 pm at the Rose Wagner Theater. There are 200 tickets available. Please RSVP to Jeff Horne at 801-746-7000 x 105 or jhorne@utahfilmcenter.org by March 19th.
Teacher Appreciation will be the week of May 21st-24th. Olive Garden will be catering the teacher luncheon on the 24th. We will need volunteers to help serve the lunch and also to be in the classrooms so the teachers can enjoy their lunch. We are also looking for gifts we can raffle off on the 24th.
