PPSA Meeting May 8, 2013

From Dawn and Kristie:
Summer applications were due back on May 7 and people who applied for summer should receive a letter by the end of the month.
Registration packets for the 2013-2014 school year will be sent out in June.
A new Pingree school bus has been ordered and we should have it for the next school year!
The Clinic program will be modified for the 2013-2014 school year.  There will be 7 full day positions and 3 split spots for the next school year.

From Social Work:
There will be a meeting at Pingree on May 23rd on Recreation Activies for the summer.  Splore, Camp K, and others will be there.  More information to come.

From Cheryl Smith:
The first Autism Council of Utah Blue Carpet Gala was a big success.  The Gala raised $28,000 for the ACU!
If you do not have an autism license plate, now is the time to get one.  We need to sell a little over 200 more plates in order for the legislature to keep the autism plate.  Otherwise, we could loose it!  Remember that the $25 extra a year for the autism plate goes to the ACU.
If you have a project you are involved in that involves autism, you can apply for a grant through the ACU.
The ACU will be holding their annual Golf tournament in August - see their website for more details.

From PPSA:
The Family Fun Fair is coming up on May 18th from 11-2 pm.  A lite lunch will be served and there will be fun activities for the kids including face painting, bounce houses, and a book fair.  Please come!
Staff Appreciation is the week of May 20-23rd.  We are doing a Pirate Theme.  We need parents to donate $10 gift cards to give to our teachers this week.  We also need parents to volunteer in the class room on May 23 between 11-1 pm, so the teachers can enjoy their catered lunch.
There will be a book fair at the school from May 20-23rd from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm.  It is a BOGO book fair, so come get the kids some books for the summer!

Next PPSA meeting on June 12, 2013 at 9:30 am.  We will be voting on the next PPSA president.  If you are interested - please come to the meeting!
